On Friday 28th October we remembered Bernie, our dear lollipop lady who died last March. Our school gathered together with Bernie’s family and friends along with members of the Board of Management for a prayer service. To remember and acknowledge Bernie’s connection with our school a buddy bench in memory of Bernie was presented to the children. The idea of a buddy bench is that if a child is feeling left out or has nobody to play with, they sit on the bench and other children can see that they are alone. Bernie’s buddy bench pays tribute to Bernie and reflects her caring and friendly manner. We hope that Bernie’s buddy bench is a place where friendships will grow.
Niall de Búrca – Storyteller Visit
All classes thoroughly enjoyed a visit from Ireland’s finest storyteller. Niall visited the school on Thursday 7th November and entertained us all with haunting stories
