Enrolment for September 2025

St Brigid’s Primary School is pleased to welcome new pupils to our community every September.

Under current departmental procedures, schools are required to post details of admission procedures in advance of accepting applications. This is to ensure equal access for all and to allow for the fair allocation of school places in the case of oversubscriptions. We do not envisage this having any adverse effect on our ability to provide places for all the children of Moate and its environs who wish to attend our school. However, it does mean that admission is now a two-step process.

ASD Special Class

St Brigid’s Primary School has been sanctioned to open a Special Class for pupils with autism in September 2023. As the class is sanctioned on the basis that it can provide for the full duration of the pupils up to 6th class, it is currently only open to female students. The Special Class will therefore only cater for female students with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder diagnosis, as the school does not cater for boys to 6th class.
This class aims to offer an Autistic Specific Learning Environment within a mainstream primary school. The setting will facilitate optimum inclusion, integration and reverse integration as part of the school community with access to mainstream classrooms and activities as appropriate.  It is funded and resourced by the Department of Education. This class and the school policy are governed by the funding, resources, services and space available. The class will cater for a maximum of six pupils and at its maximum will have 1 teacher and 2 Special Needs Assistants. Special Needs Assistants will be assigned in accordance with the enrolment of pupils.
Please contact the Principal on 090 64 81740 if you wish to discuss an application to this class for your daughter.
