Third to Sixth Classes explored Bunratty Castle and Craggaunowen this week. There was great excitement departing Moate early on Tuesday morning. First stop was Bunratty Castle where the children had a chance to visit Bunratty Castle, the stronghold of the O’Brien clan. They also explored the Folk Park and the wolfhounds, peacocks and deer impressed us all. After Bunratty we departed for Craggaunown where the girls experienced life in the Bronze Age. They visited Crannogs, a ring fort, souterrain and tried their hands at weaving and wattle and dab too!
