On Tuesday 14th March we had our Green School Action Day. The committee set up different stations in the hall and each class had a tour of the hall. They engaged in lots of fun activities. The committee helped calculate their carbon footprint. Another station had a water quiz and the pupils played biodiversity bingo. They all planted a sunflower seed and played board games designed by 6th class promoting global goal awareness. Some girls and boys brought in food, clothing, toys and projects from their country and shared this with us. It was a lovely day and we all learned something from it. Deborah from Westmeath Co. Council came and visited the school and was very impressed with our work on Global Citizenship Litter and Waste. She met the committee and congratulated them on their hard work and enthusiasm.
