On December 6th last, 25 pupils from 3rd – 6th class travelled to the world class athletics facilities at the Technological University of the Shannon to compete in the Diversity Games for primary school. Pupil competed in 60m, 150m, 300m, Long Jump and 4x100m relays. Adura and Adedoyin Showunmi, Aoife Mc Donald and Wiktoria Wziatek were all medal winners in their initial races and Adura and Adedoyin went on to take first place and second place respectively in their class’s overall final. It was a great experience for the girls to get the chance to run on a real Athletics track and we hope at least some of these athletes will go on to compete at higher levels in the years to come.
