The Army Band

Thursday, December 19th was another busy day for everyone as we welcomed the Band of the western Command to our Hall for their annual Performance and display of instruments which is always enjoyed by all. This year was no exception and was greatly enhanced by the Band’s elevated position on the new stage. refreshments for the musicians were provided as always by a dedicated bunch of parents from the Parents’ Association.

Santa comes to St. Brigid’s!
Wednesday, 18th December saw the arrival of a very special guest to the School Hall, when Santa, accompanied by his elves, greeted each class and distributed selection boxes to all the children. We thank the Parent Association for providing the treats and arranging this special visit.

Christmas Performances

The School Halls were alive with the sounds of singing, music and Drama since early November as we all prepared for our Christmas performances. Mrs Earley’s, Mrs Casey’s and Ms O’Mahony’s 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes participated in the Hallelujah Concert in City West on December 6th and then performed in the School Hall, along with the violin class, on Thursday December 12th.

On Friday 13th, Ms Ganly’s Senior Infants performed “Wriggly Nativity”, which told the Christmas story from the point of view of the animals in the Stable.

On Monday December 16th, Mrs Keena’s Junior infants performed the Nativity Story from the angels’ point of view
in the play “Oopsie DaisyAngel” and in the afternoon, Mrs Gillivan and 1st class put on a traditional Bethlehem Story.
