Literacy Lift Off

Students in the Junior Classes have been participating in and enjoying the “Literacy lift Off Early Intervention” Programme in our school since September. The Literacy Lift Off or “Power Hour” as it is known by the children is an intensive programme of reading and writing which gives the children opportunities to read books at their own level of competency. The success to date could not have been achieved without the staff, many of whom completed training in this area over the summer holidays. Parents of the children involved in the programme have played a very important role, ensuring daily enjoyment of reading at home and prompt returning of books. The programme could not have been implemented without the funding raised by the hard-working, ever supportive Parents’ Association.
The school is delighted to be able to provide this literacy initiative and hope to see further success in reading and writing.

Odd Sock Day

The school took part in this initiative and raised much needed funds for Motor Neuron Disease research.
