Basketball Success for 6th Class!

On Wednesday morning, 18th of May, my team and I headed off to Athlone to the Bower school for a basketball blitz. When we arrived there were 2 other schools there; Coosan and Cornamaddy. After we warmed up a bit the boys from St. Oliver Plunkett came. Then the last team arrived. There were a few people I recognised on the other teams because I used to play basketball with them. On our team there were 6 girls and 6 boys from St. Oliver Plunkett. The team consisted of Ellen, Chloe Lucy, Rachel, Caoimhe, Summer, Billy, Gavin, Karl, Connor, Mouise, and Joseph. Ms. Kilroy was in charge of the teams. We played really well and got into the finals. The final was against Cornamaddy and was 15 mins aside. At the end it was a draw and had to go to extra time. Chloe got two free throws and scored them both! We were all so happy. At the end after saying hard luck and good game to the other team we got presented with our medal. We all went home very happy. Thanks to Ms. Kilroy for coaching us! By Ellen Madden
